Retreats
It is a profound habit to get away now and then and process the squalls in our lives. Come out to our place by the river and get away for a few days. Come alone, with your spouse, or with your friends. Eat together, talk, process, walk the river path, hike in the hills, or just sit on the deck and rest.
ABOUT US
Among the various wild flowers on our property, our favorite is the Trillium. These delicate woodland flowers are the first signs of life after a long, wet, winter. The plant germinates underground, then slowly sends up three green leaves in search of the sun.
A beautiful white flower emerges, then spreads its three unpretentious petals above the green leaves. The white petals artfully turn pink, then purple as they age. By the time the Trillium are gone, other flowers that grow wild take the stage and dazzle us through the summer.
We chose the Trillium as our logo for Planted by a River because they flourish along the river and because they are symbolic of the beauty of our journey with Jesus. Our formation comes from work that is done within as we connect with Christ and with others. We blossom in stages as we expose ourselves to the Son, blossoming to become who He created us to be.
